About Me

My name is Jenny and this is my blog. My life was changed forever on the fateful day of 31st March 2004, the day I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I know that there are so many people who are touched by cancer, I am not rich I cannot find a cure but I can knit... So I decided I would like to try and knit the longest pink scarf in the world. I started the Jenny Chant Appeal to help with education and support for sufferers and their families. Since the inception so many things have happened. One thing that I was not prepared for was being diagnosed with cancer for the 3rd time. In August 2008 I was told that I had lip cancer and that I needed to have life saving surgery in case it spread to the lymph nodes in my neck. I am not a vain person but when I saw the scar it made me weep... I now could not hide from my brushes with death. On to my final words of wisdom: my only advice to men and women is always go for check-ups regularly (and inspect yourself), never lose faith and always try to be positive. Jenny

Monday Tues. and Wednes. 21st 22nd 23rd.

Hiya,

I cant believe almost another week has passed, it is quite scary the way time just seems to pass us by. I am at my sons house doing some cleaning and ironing and answering my emails. Went over to my friend Jacky and had a cuppa. She is off to the doctors for a checkup. Im sure everything will be fine.

I am almost finished my emails, and then I will be heading off home to relax and get on with my knitting. What a day, not very exciting, but these things have to get done. Chow for now. Speak to you all soon.

Sunday 20th sept 09.

Hi everyone,

Sunday the weather was perfect, I went to church, the service was lovely they had a christening as well, the church was packed. After church I went home, decided it was such a lovely day I would go and sit in the park. Got out of my glad rags, changed into something more comfy. I packed a bag with some goodies got my knitting and off I was to the park.

I spent a great afternoon in the park, talking to people as they went by. Some people in Bedworth are quite friendly, they stopped to chat and asked me what I was knitting, so of cause I told them all about the Jenny Chant Appeal, Thank goodness I had some pamphlets with me, and handed them out. It was soon time to head off home. Another wonderful day.

What happened saterday 19th sept.2009.

Hi all,

Nothing very exciting, got up did the usual things, like showering, breakfast etc. I decided to take a walk into town, not very exciting hey! I did see a few people I knew  that are helping with the appeal. There were about 6 of us, we decided togo  for coffee in a nearby coffee shop. The day started to look brighter after that. It was great sitting and chatting about all kinds of things. After that I took a walk to homebase, looking for some flowers to plant, I didnt have much luck, so went home and got busy with my knitting. Another wonderful day.

Thusday 17th sept 2009.

Hi all,

I cant believe it is almost the weekend again, how the time flies. It is quite scary. Today I decided to just relax. I took a walk into town, met a few of my wonderful knitters, we all chatted awhile about this and that, and of cause the main topic was about how many scarves we had knitted. It was great fun. A end to another lovely day.

Hi everyone,

Me again, I did the boring work of cleaning, washing and ironing. After that was all done, I decided I needed a break and had tea with my friend Jacky and as always I was knitting away. I really relax when I am knitting, I am so glad I started the appeal.

If then is anyone out there who would like to help, please go to my website: http://www.jennychant.co.uk/.

Sunday 13th sept.2009.

After a lovely day on saterday, othe than the stress of the computor, Sunday was bright and breezy. I went to church, the service was great, and I felt much more relaxed. I spent a lovely quiet day knitting and my favourite pass time, watching tv. Another end to a lovely day.

what I did on 12th sept.

Hi all,

After a hour or so on the computor, doing my emails, my son decided I needed a break. I am not a computor fundi and was quite stessed, after a hour. Donovan decided to take me to lunch, which was great. We then did some shopping. When I got home I turned on the tv, got my knitting, made a cuppa and just relaxed. What a lovely end to a lovely day.

What I did Friday

After the boring job of doing my housework, I made a cuppa, and started knitting while watching tv. I got so involved with my knitting, when I looked, it was tea time. What a wonderful day I had.

Website and things

After a long gap in sending the newsletter, I got myself in gear and we wrote it and then had the long task of sending the newsletter out.  This was after all the computers and printer had the usual issues.  Why do we have them I keep asking myself.  All I wanted to do was contact all the lovely knitters and tell them about how far we had gotten but it always seems to take so long.

I was invited to go on holiday with my Son to the Isle of Lewis, but I still had not finished the task of sending the letters out so I gathered my son and family and we got the job done really quickly.  So some of you may have already received a newsletter stamped from the Isle of Lewis.

The website is still a problem but hopefully it is OK.

And only still another 50 letters to send out!  And I still wanted to knit today.
